AUSTIN, KENNARD O., born, May 30th, 1919, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 16, 2003. He is survived by his Spouse, Frieda Crouse Austin of Dallas, 3 sons, Larry Stover (and wife Marcille), Joe Stover (and wife Margaret) of Mesquite, Roger Austin of Michigan, one daughter Joyce Wilson of Ohio, one brother Charles Austin of Connecticut, 2 sisters Deana Patterson of Florida and Katherine Meadows of Michigan and 5 grandchildren, Tracy Flores, Shannon Stover, Robert Shine, Jeff Stover and Joe Stover, Jr., 9 great grandchildren, Jessica and Leanne Shine, Jonathan Stover, Tiffani Stover, Alex Flores, Lauren Flores, Jordan Flores, Justin Stover, Alec Stover. Kernard entered military service October 2, 1942 and was assigned to Company B, 1st Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, and 82nd Airborne Division. He was awarded Silver Star, Bronze Star and Cluster, Purple Heart and Cluster. Combat Infantry Badge, Unit Presidential Citation, ETO Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was a lifetime member of DAV and VFW Member of North Texas Chapter 82nd Airborne. Services will be held at Roselawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Seagoville on Saturday September 20th at 11 am. Family wiIl receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6-pm-8pm .
